Updates

We are trying to find a time to meet with E. We try calling her but she never answers and her voicemail is full so we can't even leave a message. We're going to try going over there later to see if we can pick out a specific time to go talk to her. A is super busy because her sister got murdered last year and they're trying to go through the trial right now. We just try and stop by the dog park in her apartment complex to find and talk to her. We're going to try to set up a time to see her when we can though. B has gone MIA. We think he's done this before. We'll call him and then he'll just ramble on and on and then tell us that he'll text us at time to meet but he never does. We might try and go drop in on him sometime. J and M moved, they're in the Bedford area right now which is still in our Stake. The sisters over there are going to take over the English lessons though. D and J are doing amazing. D just recently went and did baptisms ...

Practice, Practice

New missionary training meeting.  Practicing on each other. Hmm....what do you think she's saying here?     Nothing too exciting happened this week. We had a couple of missionary meetings that took up quite a bit of time. On Tuesday we had zone training, which is a meeting for just our zone where we talk about missionary work. It was good. Oh and I found out that Elder Ramsey has family in Snowflake! He said his dad is from there or lives there or something, but I forgot to ask what his dad's name was haha. On Wednesday we actually tried riding our bikes. It was quite the adventure. We didn't go too far but it was a lot of fun. We also went and taught Delores. It was a pretty so-so lesson. She thought that we believed anyone who isn't a Mormon was going to go to Hell. So we told her about the three degrees of glory but I don't know if she actually quite understood what we were saying. She's kind of a hard investigator. I don't ...

Let the Y'all begin!

Last P-day we had a zone activity and we all played games at the stake center. It was pretty fun. After that we went and ate dinner with a couple in the ward named the Phillipis. They're super awesome. They kind of remind me of Rachel and Colby haha. They have a cute little son who is 5 months old. I thought it wouldn't be too hard not being allowed to hold children out here, but dang do I just want to pick them up and squeeze them sometimes.   We've been teaching Daphne and her husband Josh the new member lessons. Daphne was just baptized in January right before I got out here. Josh is her less active husband who is starting to come to church more. They're both really great. Daphne is so enthusiastic about sharing the gospel and keeps asking us for more Book of Mormons cause she keeps passing all of ours out. Basically the new member lessons are just all the discussions again, with more emphasis on like temple work and the priesthood and serving others...

District pictures

The missionaries in her District  Re-united with her MTC companion, Sis Christensen  Being seriously silly The sweet T-shirt I her mom sent her :)     So after e-mails on Monday we went and taught Sarah. It was so great! We brought one of our ward missionaries, Sister Robertson, with us and she was amazing! We taught Sarah about faith and repentance. She's having a hard time with repentance because she's done some things that she feels God has forgiven her for, but that she still has a lot of guilt over. Sister Robertson then pitched in and just told her that she could tell that Sarah was a good woman and a good mother, and that even though she isn't a member yet she could really feel the spirit in her home. Something about the way Sister Robertson expressed this just brought the spirit out so strongly, and we could tell that she was just saying what Heavenly Father would have said to Sarah in that moment. My chest felt like it...

First zone conference

First zone conference.  This is her District Her and her companion won the "cleanest car" award This week's email: Not a whole lot happened this week from the last time I talked to you. We've been visiting a lot of less active members and are trying to get them to come back to church. We met with S who we're trying to get baptized on March 22 and found out that she didn't get Sundays off at work like she wanted. She was really mad and told us that she was going to talk to someone at work about it. She really wants to go to church with her kids. We should be meeting with her later tonight to teach her about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. It should go pretty well because she already believes most of these things and has a testimony of them. Hopefully she'll get Sundays off soon so that she can come to church. We weren't able to s...

Birthday Week!

Image
Happy Birthday to me! Yep, I'm 20  Sweet! Thanks for the boots Mom... I freakin love them!  Yep...love them!  Sister Bangs dad sent her a Dr. Who Mr. Potato Head!  A little birthday pampering.  Hooray for sisters! And nieces!  Her apartment.  A little Birthday music.  Splits with sister Alldredge. So I can only think of two really note worthy things this week. First was that we had exchanges last tuesday and so I was with Sister Alldredge for a day. It was really fun! I learned a lot of new things and was able to help her teach a 13 year old named C about the Plan of Salvation. It was so cool! There was one point in the lesson where the blessings of eternal life just clicked and C got so excited. It was like the best thing ever. She was so happy to know that, and she was interested in getting that for her family as well. It was really sweet to see. We also went tracting which was certainly...

Week 3 - Progress!

So a last week after emails, we went and taught a couple from egypt who speak arabic, so we teach them english, I can't remember if I've told you about them or not. Their names are J and M. We've also had a bunch of Sister Ward missionaries called so on Tuesday we went and met with all of them to get to know them better. We also had district meeting where I had to give a training on learning to follow the promptings of the holy ghost. It went pretty well. Sister Robertson is one of our ward missionaries and she's just so awesome, I love her. She's really funny and just laid back so I like that. On Wednesday we actually found a new investigator! He used to a be a former investigator but was too difficult to schedule with and now his schedule has gotten a lot better. His name is Bar, he's from south Sudan. We took a sister from the ward with us to meet him because he lives alone and she turned out to be the perfect person to take. Her name is S...
