Practice, Practice
New missionary training meeting. Practicing on each other.
Hmm....what do you think she's saying here?
Nothing too exciting happened this week. We had a couple of
missionary meetings that took up quite a bit of time. On Tuesday we had zone training, which is
a meeting for just our zone where we talk about missionary work. It was good. Oh
and I found out that Elder Ramsey has family in Snowflake! He said his dad is
from there or lives there or something, but I forgot to ask what his dad's name
was haha.
On Wednesday we actually
tried riding our bikes. It was quite the adventure. We didn't go too far but it
was a lot of fun. We also went and taught Delores. It was a pretty so-so lesson.
She thought that we believed anyone who isn't a Mormon was going to go to Hell.
So we told her about the three degrees of glory but I don't know if she actually
quite understood what we were saying. She's kind of a hard investigator. I don't
think she really takes in what we are trying to teach her. We didn't get a
return appointment with her, but hopefully we'll call her if she doesn't call us
and we'll be able to set one up. She's super busy all the time.
On Thursday we went and
taught Daphne and Josh and finished up all the new member lessons with her.
She's so great. She has such a strong testimony! I just love her. J is
getting more and more active too so it's great.
We had interviews with President Ames on Friday. That was pretty good. He's got a lot of solid
insights. We also went and actually were able to meet one of the less actives in
the ward that we always try to see. Her name is Rita and she is awesome.
She just needs to come to church haha. Later that night we also exchanged with
the Sister Training Leaders and I got to stay in Euless with Sister
Alldredge.
So on Saturday me and Sister
Alldredge tried to see a bunch of people but no one was home and like all of our
appointments cancelled on us. It wasn't fun. We also had a huge rain storm, but
I like the rain so that was fun. We were able to go and meet with a less active
member named Dixie who I can't remember if I've told you about. She's an older
lady and she lives with her son who works as TSA at the airport. They're both
really cool and I love them. We're going to start teaching them the actual
missionary discussions because Dixie said she wanted to go back to the temple to
do baptisms and because she doesn't actually remember a whole lot about the
church because she's had so many inactive periods in her life. Hopefully we'll
be able to jog her memory and get them more active in the church. We also went
and helped a less active member named Misty paint her living room purple. It's
going to look so good when it's finished. Daphne came with us to help cause she
had met Misty earlier and they bonded. It was lots of fun. We exchanged back and
Sister Bangs and I shared a message with her from Elder Holland's talk called
"Like A Broken Vessel" which is like the best talk ever. Misty seemed to really
like it. The only reason she doesn't come to church is because her husband is
weird about it, and she doesn't want to make him mad. So we're going to try to
work with the Elders Quorum to fellowship him and stuff.
Sunday we went and taught
youth lessons to the Alltops and the Va'enukus. They're both awesome families.
The Alltops are kind of a more less active family so we're hoping that as we
progress with the lessons that we'll be able to get them more active. Should be
fun to see.
How'd y'all do about my challenge I gave you? Invite anyone over for
dinner? Make a new friend? I'd love to hear what happened, and if you haven't
yet, please do!
Love ya,
Sister Morrill
