The boy who lived....

This week was pretty good! We met an awesome new investigator this week! he referred himself on mormon.org and is soooooooo prepared! It's amazing! His name is Saul. He told us that he'd been going to a church somewhere else in Texas and that he'd gotten really close with them and felt like he was a lot happier. Then he had to move and hasn't gone back to a church since and has just felt like everything has been falling apart because of that. So the Spanish Elders actually knocked on his door and talked to him a little. Saul told us that he felt like he should just talk with them. So they talked and he liked what they had to say and then he got referred to us. He's been so amazing to talk to. He has a lot of questions about things in the bible and religion and when we answer them with restored truth he says that it all makes sense! We've told him a little bit about the apostasy and are excited to talk to him about the rest! He even came to church on Sunday! He loved it and told us that he'd definitely would be back again. We have an appointment with him this Wednesday and we're so excited. What's even more awesome is that the Elders were driving with Saul and his ride after church and Saul asked about temples. So the Elders explained about baptisms for the dead and the spirit world, and Saul just accepted is like a champ and told them that it made the most sense that he'd ever heard. We're really excited to be working with him. It's amazing to see how God has been directing his life. God truly is aware of each of us.
So some slightly sad news is that is doesn't look like Lucy will be able to be baptized this Saturday. The father of her kids has just gotten out of the hospital and is staying with her for a couple of days until he and his girlfriend can find another place, so she's been really stressed out and hasn't been coping with it super well. This date was a good goal for her though, this has been the closest she's ever gotten to baptism before. We know she can do it! She has such a strong testimony! Next time will be it for sure!
Bobby and Mary are still going strong for their baptism this week though! We're really excited! They both got interviewed on Saturday and are good to go! Bobby bore a really sweet testimony to us on Tuesday. Bobby seems like a really ornery lady on the outside, but she is so tender and we can tell that coming closer to God in this way has really helped her. I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I have to see the gospel change people's lives! We're so excited to see them get baptized this Saturday! They're really excited too! I just love it.
Then yesterday was the mission president's fireside. It was so good! President Ames is so inspired and the testimonies that were borne there were so special. I also was able to see Sister Bangs! I haven't seen her since Euless! It was really cool. I was also able to see one of our investigators that got baptized after I left! I was so happy. I'm pretty sure his nickname for this blog is "The boy who lived". It was awesome. We took a recently reactivating sister and her husband to the fireside. They loved it! The sister said that she just loves meetings like those. Where you just have a speak and get to feel the spirit. We were so happy to have them there and it was definitely inspired by our Father in Heaven.
Despite some ups and downs it was a really good week! I know that Heavenly Father truly has a plan for us! And that through Christ we can overcome all things. All he asks us to do is to follow after Him and to allow Him to help us. I've gained a testimony of that this week. I love this gospel. Have a great week!

P.S. The attached picture is a Euless legacy haha. The missionaries in it are Sister Burraston, Sister Kuli, Sister Gunson, Sister Bangs and me. The others are the boy who lived and his mother and Daphne!
