Lost sheep
If you look close, there is a sheep in the back of this truck! (Click on it)
We had some good things happen this week. We were finally able to have a real appointment and lesson with our investigator named Michael. I don't know if I've even talked about him before. The sisters here have been working with him for while. He's got a good testimony, but he's had a really hard life and has some things in his past holding him up for baptism. We've only had one lesson with him since I've been here and it was a very short one. After that we kept having scheduling conflicts and weren't able to meet with him. So we finally got to sit down and have a lesson with him on Friday. It was so good! We brought our new Elders Quorum President over with us and he was just perfect! He was exactly the kind of friend that Michael needed. Michael just seemed to feel a lot better after our lesson with him which was really good to see. We were worried that he was getting a bit discouraged about his baptism, but our Elders Quorum President just showed so much love and faith in him and it was amazing. It was a good reminder to us as well that we just need to always be showing our love for people and expressing our faith in them. The atonement was made for everyone! Anyone can access it's power, no matter the mistakes they've made in their lives. It's really amazing to me.
God just loves us so much. I feel like that's what I've learned about a lot
this week. No matter how weak we think we are or how unworthy, God still loves
us and still cares for us. I've learned (and am still very much in the process
of learning) that as we humble ourselves and become teachable that Christ will
show us the way and give us the strength to grow. We just have to want to do
better and do all that we can to be better, even if it's not that much. Christ's
atonement is truly infinite and covers all sins.
We had zone conference on Thursday which was amazing! We talked a lot about expecting
miracles and just miracles in general. I had a cool little revelation. Just the
fact that I've made it this far on my mission is a miracle! The fact that I've
grown so much and haven't had a thousand emotional breakdowns (it's probably only
more like 100 ;)) is a miracle! I've also been a direct tool in God bringing
about His miracles. It's hard to recognize and remember sometimes, but I have
done good things on my mission. I might not have been the "key" tool sometimes,
but I was still a necessary tool. So I guess everything/everyone is really a key
tool in the hands of God. Because that's what God and Jesus Christ do! They are
the master creators! Can you believe that everyone on this Earth are all their
creations? Isn't that beautiful? Man, the gospel is just so cool! I just love
being a part of it so much. I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father. I love all
of you so much too. Have a great week!
