Happy Birthday to me :)
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a really good day. I ate
dinner with the senior couple in the YSA as well as a few of the YSA members. We
also we're able to meet this really sweet guy named Sam who is working on going
to the temple. He said he really wants to take his family to the temple. He just
had such a clear direction on where he wanted to go. It was really great to
see!
John is totally getting baptized this week! He was interviewed on Sunday and is all set. It's really
awesome because his whole family is coming to see it and they're all
non-members! I hope that they'll feel the spirit! How can they not? John is so
amazing. I'm so proud of him and so grateful for this decision he is making.
He's already talking about the temple so it's good that he's set his sights on
that.
On Friday we had a really
great lesson with our Elders Quorum President. We went over to share a
missionary message about the Book of Mormon. As we were talking about it he told
us that he'd been working with his neighbor and was like "You know what? I think
he's actually home right now. I'll go give him a Book of Mormon right now!" Then
he just gets up and walks out and about 5-10 minutes later he comes back in and
tells us all about how open his friend was. It was amazing and totally blew us
away! And it only worked because he showed genuine love for him. If we had just
been tracting his neighbor's house he would have never let us talk to him. And
while he was gone we were able to have a good conversation with his wife who had
desires to do missionary work, but is a stay at home mom and wasn't quite sure
how. We were able to help her game plan and she decided that she'd try and make
friends with someone at the library during toddler time and over the course of
their friendship she'd try and share the gospel with them. It truly is easy to
share the gospel if our motivating reason for doing it is because we love God
and we love the person we are sharing it with. It was a really awesome lesson to
learn and has increased my faith.
We also went on exchange with our Sister Training Leaders which was lots of
fun. I learned a lot and am grateful for those sisters and their
service.
This week has been kind of a hard week. I've also been sick and went to the
doctor on Friday and found out
that I have Bronchitis. I'm on antibiotics now and spent of majority of my Saturday sleeping. I'm feeling a lot
better now though, although still kind of tired. However I know that the Lord is
still looking out for us and we're still seeing some tender mercies along the
way. I know that this gospel is true and I'm so grateful for that knowledge.
Thanks for all your support!
