Christmas week

New Christmas outfit....thanks mom! :)

This week was slow and hard, but ultimately good. We saw a lot of tender mercies from the Lord that all made up for it.

On Monday we went to FHE with the YSA which was fun because we were able to build ginger bread houses. Then on Tuesday we had our Christmas devotional with our mission president which was so awesome! I just loved it. We got to eat a yummy lunch and watch A Christmas Carol. My mission has definitely gotten to me because the whole time I was watching that I was trying to pick out all the gospel principles. There were quite a few! Like the repentance and the atonement and even eternal marriage haha. After the movie we had a little devotional in the chapel where one of the Elders read the real Christmas story. It had scriptures from all over everyone of them talking about Christ, starting from the preexistence all the way until after His death. It was really cool and so spiritual to have all those scriptures put together. After that they gave us letters from our family and Bishop and other people which was so awesome. I think we all cried like babies haha.
Then on Christmas Eve we were able to see quite a few people who we'd been wanting to see which was awesome. On Christmas we had district meeting and we weren't really able to many people which was hard. We were having a bit of a hard time that day, but the Sister that we ate dinner with just brightened us up. She's a convert of two years ago and just has such amazing faith and is always willing to share the gospel. It was really neat to meet with her and get to know her. She lifted up our spirits and then later that evening we did some last minutes caroling with the Elders in the ward. I just love caroling so much! I'm going to miss it. People just love it and eat it up!
Then the next couple days were a bit of a struggle. We had people to see but they all cancelled on us or weren't home. We took some time to straighten out our area book and track down former investigators and potentials. None of them were home either when we tried to see them, or we just didn't get good feelings about the places we were at. We're not really sure what the Lord is trying to teach us right now, but I have faith that there is a purpose for all of this and that things are going to work out soon. It's been hard but it's good. The gospel is still true though! It will always be true. I've learned a lot and grown a lot this week. I know that this is all for my good. I hope y'all had wonderful holidays. Thanks for all your support! I love you!
