Apparently I look like a nun!

The tree my mom sent me :)

Happy late thanksgiving! We ate very well over here. We had a thanksgiving lunch and then a thanksgiving dinner, and we were able to teach non-members at both so that was really awesome! This week has been a somewhat turbulent one, but it has ultimately been good. The rest of my Monday last week was fun because we all played soccer as a zone. I think I forgot how fun soccer is, and also how out of shape I am haha.
On Tuesday we  had to go get new tires because one of our tires is completely bald. We only waited at the place for 6 hours! It was crazy. We finally have new tires though so that's good. Let's see, a lot happened this week so I'm going to try to just stick with the highlights.
We were blessed to teach a lot of lessons this week! We had an appointment with a couple named Ariel and Sebastian. We thought they were both non-members but it turns out that Sebastian was actually born in the church and was baptized when he was 8! So cool! They told us that they were wanting to find a church because they wanted to have God more in their lives. We were able to teach them on Wednesday about the Restoration. Ariel told us that she believed that something like the first vision could actually happen to someone and said she'd pray about the event and about Joseph Smith. She's got a really awesome testimony of prayer and Sebastian just seems to absorb everything. They're such neat people! I'm excited to teach them more.

We also found a new investigator for the YSA branch! It's a really cool story actually. So we were driving and realized that we were doing pretty good on our mileage for the month and there's this road that goes to a place called Topsey that we'd never been on before. We decided to take it and see where it leads. It lead us to a fork in the road with a sign that told us if we went left it'd take us to Lampasas and if we went right it'd take us to Gatesville. We weren't really sure which one to take and as we were decided someone pulled up behind us so we had to hurry and decide. We decided to go left towards Lampasas (which isn't our area unless we're going to see YSA members). So as we're driving that way Sister Tuna realizes that there's totally a less active YSA member we could go see there. Her name is Faith and neither of us had ever even heard of her before. When we got there her little brother answered the door and told us that Faith wasn't there but that she'd be there soon. So we talk with her brother for a bit and then Faith and her boyfriend pull up. We get to talking with them and Faith tells us that as soon as her work schedule changes that she wants to come back to church and her boyfriend, Justin, sat in on our entire lesson. Apparently he had met with some missionaries before but was a little stand offish because those missionaries had been pushy and possibly didn't act the way that missionaries should have acted. Faith was asking all sorts of good questions and seems to really want Justin to be involved in some sort of religion. The spirit was there as we taught and I have just such a good feeling about these two. We're going back again this week and I'm super excited to see where this goes.
Also some really funny stuff happened this week. We have this really awesome recent convert named Cathy who thinks I look like a nun. Something funny she said to me this week after I had made a sarcastic remark was "Oh that little nun is spicy! They kicked her out of the Catholic church so she came to the LDS." Probably the funniest thing anyone has ever said about me. I also had a four year old try to force feed me pumpkin pie. We were eating dinner with a member and her son asked me if I had ever tried pumpkin pie before. I told him that I had and he just continued to go on about how much he loved pumpkin pie. Then he came at me with a fork full of it haha. He was just so passionate, he's going to be an awesome missionary one day.
So yeah, we did a lot more stuff this week that was awesome, but those are probably my favorite parts. If I told you everything you'd be here all day. Oh we also went on exchange with our sister training leaders who are just so awesome and so helpful. So that was good too.
I'm so excited for this holiday season! It's the perfect reason to be talking about Christ! We also get to go out and carol to people that ward members sign up for us to visit. It's going to be lots of fun! Also if you have checked out the He is the Gift website. Do it! It's christmas.mormon.org and it is awesome! I know that this gospel is true and I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that we have a Father in Heaven who loves each and every one of His children. Is there anything better than that? I don't think so. Thanks for all of your support! I love you!
