Bustin Chops!
Yep, this is her new companion, Sister Lewis
P-Day last Monday
This week was kind of stressful, but really really good! My new companion, Sister
Lewis, is so awesome! I am learning a lot from her. It's been hard having to be
the one who knows the area though, we've only gotten lost a few times ;D. Sister
Lewis has been a great help though. We met with Lucy this week and set a
baptismal date for the 16th of
August! It was so great, when we suggested the date to her and she said
yes I felt the spirit so strongly. I know that this day is going to be a good
one for her. Unfortunately she wasn't able to come to church because she had
some sort of family emergency. We haven't been able to talk much with her since
she told us, so we're going to try to see her as soon as possible to get an
update and to see if we can help.
We've also been able to meet a
lot of new people and gained 3 new investigators this week! We're going to see
them on Tuesday. We've also
gained quite a few promising potential investigators as well.
Sunday was such a great day as well.
We had a good church meeting and we were able to help teach in the Young
Women's. Then we were able to go to our Mission President's fireside where
recent converts and then President Ames speaks. It's for recent converts,
investigators, and less active members. It was so stinking awesome! We brought a
recent convert from our ward and she loved it! I was also able to see Sister
Gunson there who told me about some awesome things happening in Euless. M&M
(less actives from Euless) have totally set a date in December to get sealed in
the temple! Mr. M quit smoking and was able to finally gain a testimony of God,
and is apparently going to share it in sacrament soon. I was so incredibly happy
to hear that! This gospel changes lives! Also they have an investigator that we
worked really hard with getting baptized on the 19th! Sarah is doing well I
hear, she's having a rough time making it to church because I guess a co-worker
died and she's had to pick up extra shifts on Sundays. Sister Gunson said she
was still doing well though.
I've been incredibly blessed this week
to see and hear about some awesome miracles, and to meet some amazing people.
I've never realized how much Christ's gospel can change people's lives until I
came on my mission. It's amazing to see how Christ's atonement can heal everyone,
no matter their background. I'm so grateful for the gospel being Restored in
it's fullness and for all the people who made it possible. This is truly the
Lord's work, and I am truly just a tool in His hands. It's an amazing thing to
be and I've learned and grown a lot. I feel that I have a renewed appreciation
for the gospel everyday. I know that this church is true! I know that our
Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us, despite our imperfections. I
have felt of His love everyday, and it's been amazing to see His love for others
as well. I think that will always be my favorite part of being a missionary is
being able to see God's love and mercy work in people's lives. I know that the
Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that it contains the fullness of the
restored gospel in its pages. I know that if you read and pray about it that the
Holy Ghost will testify to you of its truthfulness. I love this gospel. Thank
you for all the support you have given me!
Love,
Sister
Morrill
