"I don't shake hands with women"

This flag is flying across the freeway from our apartment.  :)

This week was kind of stressful but okay. Sarah has a lot going on in
her life that we're trying to help her out with, as much as we
possibly can considering we're just missionaries and not counselors.
She's doing amazing though and she is basically off of cigarettes.
She's so ready to get baptized and we just can't wait to help her get
there.

We've found a new investigator who is really awesome.  The Elders in
the Togan ward here referred her to us. We'll nickname her Sister P.
She seems really open to learning more and she's got a 12 year old daughter that
we'll hopefully be able to teach as well. We went over the restoration
with her, but it was more like a brief summary rather than a full on
lesson. She's getting surgery sometime this week and then after that
we'll be able to stop by and work with her since she won't be able to
move around too much.  (A captive audience...literally ! :))  She's like one
of the nicest people I've ever met. When we knocked on the door and told her
it was the missionaries she told us to just walk right in. I looked at my companion and was
like "Wait, what?" We're really excited about her.

Those are some of the highlights of the week. We're still working with
members and trying to refine our lessons with them so that we don't
come on too strong about missionary work, but also get them pumped
about it. Oh and on Sunday we met this very interesting fellow. We
pull up into the parking lot of the church and see this car decked out
in coffee advertisement stuff and a couple are sitting inside. So
Sister Gunson and I along with Daphne go up to introduce ourselves and
see if they we're going to be coming to church or not. Sister Gunson
introduces herself and offers her hand to shake and the guy is all
like "Oh, sorry, I don't shake hands with women...don't be offended or
anything." So we were like "Oh...okay. Well are you going to be
attending one of our worship services?" and then we tried to make
small talk and then just kind of left so that we could go inside. It
was pretty weird, and a tiny bit hilarious, and now I have a new catch
phrase haha.

The church is true!  God is good and he loves each and every one of
you. Hope your mother's day was awesome!
