Transfer day 2

So, I'm not getting transferred, but Sister Bangs is. My new
companions name is either Sister Jensen or Jennison. My zone leader
was a little unclear haha. Sister Bangs is going to Hillboro, I'm sure
she'll love it. Every companionship in our zone got split up actually,
so we're going to have a bunch of new missionaries to meet.

This week we met with Sarah a couple of times. Her life is crazy, I
don't know how she does it. She actually got whooping cough and was
out of work for like a week. We still met with her though when she
started to feel better, because we'd already been exposed. Not feeling
sick yet so I think we're safe haha. She's doing so awesome though.
She's tough and so absolutely determined to get baptized. We asked her
to pick a date and she's thinking either the first or second week of
June. Hopefully we'll be able to pick a solid date soon. Daphne has
been coming with us to see her and has been a huge help. Some exciting
news for this week is that we actually got into good contact with a
less active member in our ward who is super busy. Her name is Gabby,
and she's just so busy so it's hard to catch her. Plus we used to not
have a good phone number for her. We were able to catch her home on
Thursday and had a good visit with her. She's actually got a daughter
on a mission somewhere that I can't remember. She's a really awesome
lady and she gave us her phone number so now we actually have good
contact with her. So we were excited about that.

Still having a good time working with members. Our ward missionaries
are going to start getting more involved and we're meeting with one of
them on Wednesday to discuss more ideas. Members are starting to get
more involved. There was this one family that we ate dinner with a
while ago, and when we shared a message and asked if they had anyone
they were working with, they were very reluctant to do anything, or at
least tell us about their friends. We just ate dinner with them this
past week and they totally opened up about their neighbors and how
they're working with them and inviting them to BBQ's and stuff. It was
so awesome to hear. We just encouraged them to keep doing those kinds
of things, and then one day maybe they'll be willing to take the
discussions. I think members get freaked out by us asking about their
friends because they think we'll immediately go try to baptize them or
something. We want the members to have a good positive experience with
helping someone grow closer to God, who better than their friends? We
definitely are respectful of each and every persons needs, some people
may be ready to have us invite them to baptism, but other may just
need a nice little spiritual message to plant that seed. We don't want
to "take" the members friends from them. We want to help them. So I
think we're doing a lot better at breaking down that wall, and letting
members know that we're just a support, and we'll be ready to teach when
they feel that their friends are ready to listen. Anyway, that's my
little rant I guess. I encourage you all to be member missionaries. If
I can take this giant leap out of my comfort zone to be a full-time
missionary, then you can at least invite a friend over for dinner or
for family home evening or something haha. I hope all is well. The
church is true! I love you.
