Tender Mercies

Image
Biggest dog I have ever seen!  Nightmares?  Gecko!  Glad I don't live on this street!   This week was hard but awesome at the same time. Sister Gunson and I are still getting used to each other, but we love each other and laugh a lot. She has been a huge help to me already in so short of a time. She's teaching me to work hard, but not at the cost of running myself into the ground. We were able to get into contact with a lot of less active members and see how they are doing. We made huge progress with M&M who are a less active couple in our ward. They actually came to church yesterday and it was so awesome to see them there. We're going to start teaching them the missionary discussions to help strengthen their testimonies. It should be fun, they are so great. We also met a wonderful woman who I am nicknaming "Tender Mercies" or "TM". She is a less active member in our ward as well, and when we initially show...

New Companion

This week has been a little chaotic but awesome as well. Transfers happened. My new companion Sister Gunson is so hilarious. I love her already and I can tell that I have a ton to learn from her. So when transfers initially happened neither of us had driving privileges at the time. So we were unable to drive for a day and a half. It was kind of funny and definitely made me grateful for our car. We finally got that all figured out and are now driving around in missionary style again. We're really trying hard to work with our members right now. We met with the Elders that serve in our ward as well and figured out the members that we all wanted to work with so that we don't overlap. We've been making tons of phone calls trying to set up appointments. Sarah is doing okay. She's having some struggles, but we've seen a lot of answers to her and our prayers this week. So hopefully things will start to look up for her. She is still so awesome and d...

Transfer day 2

So, I'm not getting transferred, but Sister Bangs is. My new companions name is either Sister Jensen or Jennison. My zone leader was a little unclear haha. Sister Bangs is going to Hillboro, I'm sure she'll love it. Every companionship in our zone got split up actually, so we're going to have a bunch of new missionaries to meet. This week we met with Sarah a couple of times. Her life is crazy, I don't know how she does it. She actually got whooping cough and was out of work for like a week. We still met with her though when she started to feel better, because we'd already been exposed. Not feeling sick yet so I think we're safe haha. She's doing so awesome though. She's tough and so absolutely determined to get baptized. We asked her to pick a date and she's thinking either the first or second week of June. Hopefully we'll be able to pick a solid date soon. Daphne has been coming with us to see her and has been a huge help. Some ...

Temple Day

Click to enlarge the pictures.    Seriously in the zone.  Her new zone being silly.  Her District.   Her Mission President always like to do a silly picture too. At the Dallas Temple on Monday   We're still doing a lot of work with members and less-active members. We've got some potential investigators we're still trying to track down. The members are getting a lot more involved in missionary work here so hopefully we'll start seeing some fruits for our labors. We've got some really awesome people in the ward. We went and taught S about the word of wisdom, and we're going to help her quit smoking. She was totally honest with us about it so that was really good. D has been coming with us to teach her and she's been a really good fellowship for her. They both have had a lot of crazy things happen in their lives and it's so amazing to see how strong they are, and the things that they are doing to become even ...

Squirrel!

So I got sick this week. I had like a major head cold! It sucked. So we didn't do a lot on Wedneday and Thursday cause I felt like crap. We did a lot of work with member and less active members this week. We went and taught the H family about the Restoration because they've been inactive for so long that they don't really remember a lot of things about the church. So we're teaching them the missionary discussions. They're really great. They like to get off topic though haha. We also went and helped M paint some more. I can't remember if I've told you about her. She is a less active in the ward who is redecorating her house so we've been helping her paint and things like that. She's really awesome. I love her. We met with S some more and taught her about following the prophet and such. It was really good. We had D come with us to see her and they got a long pretty well. They've both had some hard things happen in their lives a...
