Bringing the Thunder!

Lindsey and "Lucy"

Also to be known as "Teaching the gospel BABY!" or Week 3 of transfer 7.

This week was really awesome and full of the spirit! We had like 5 meetings this week. Wednesday was our only full proselyting day. That's because a member of the quorum of the Seventy came named Elder Cardon! We had a mission conference with him, then a mission fireside where he and his wife also spoke, then we also had a shortened zone conference with just President and Sister Ames, then our stake had two sessions of Stake Conference. Elder Cardon spoke at both of them, as well as President Ames. It was really cool to see them like basically every day this week. We talked a lot about increasing our faith and about listening to the spirit. It was really good.

Lucy is doing really well! We set up a game plan with her to help her quit smoking and drinking completely. She's cut back a lot but is still working on it. What's awesome is that she had an interview with out sweet Bishop yesterday and he wasn't having the fact that her baby daddy is currently living with her, so he recommended that she should stop it. She called us and told us that she was going to have a talk with her baby daddy and give him 3 days to get out. We are so excited! That woman is getting baptized! She came to all 3 meetings that were open to the public to see Elder Cardon. She loves him. Funny story, she came to the Saturday night session of Stake Conference. While there Elder Cardon was asking questions to the audience and having them raise their hands and shout out the answer. So Lucy knew one of the answers and she raises her hand and is like "Oh, Oh pick me!" so he picks on her and she just shouts out "Teaching the gospel baby!" Everyone laughed. Yup, that's our investigator haha. Then Elder Cardon (having met her thursday at the mission fireside) pointed out that she wasn't even a member and mentioned how she was sitting amidst a hoard of sister missionaries haha. I just love being in a trio. Lets just say that Lucy definitely is not shy and that she's going to me an awesome member missionary one day haha.

Bobby and Mary got to go to the temple and do baptisms! We were so happy for them! We haven't had a chance to talk to them about it yet, but we'll be seeing them soon and we're excited to get the scoop!

To finish off, I just want to say that I love my mission president and his wife so much! I truly have a testimony that not only are missionaries called to a mission, but mission President's are too!  In one of his addresses to us, President Ames started crying while talking about how much he loves his wife and how blessed he is to have her. It was really amazing to see and the spirit was so strong in that moment. My mission president is just such a spiritual giant. He's also pretty hilarious too. Also at the Saturday night stake conference session he talked about "Bringing the thunder to Texas" missionary work wise haha. I just love him and his whole family. I'm so grateful to be serving with them!
