Trio Time!

Being in a trio is awesome! It's like a missionary party everyday! Plus it has helped Sister Lewis and I to get a fresh perspective on missionary work. When you've been working together for so long it can be easy to kind of get into the same old routine with our work. Sister Carbno is a wonderful missionary who has helped us learn so much already. It's going to be a wonderful transfer.
This week was pretty great! We helped Saul move out of his place, but we taught him and had a really awesome lesson. In Sunday school last week we talked about the word of wisdom. So in our lesson Saul was asking about it. So we explained that there are certain commandments that Latter Day Saints follow. Then he asked what else there was that he'd have to do to prepare for baptism! It was so amazing! We're sad he's moved into a different ward, but we know he's going to do so well there. I can't wait to hear about his baptism one day!
We were also able to talk with Bobby and Mary about their baptisms. They said they both had such a wonderful experience and were surprised that so many people came. A lot of the ward members that we took on exchange to teach them showed up at their baptism. They both said that they were really grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost. I find that recent converts always manage to teach me and humble me. I think sometimes I just take the gift of the Holy Ghost for granted, but it truly is a gift! I'm so grateful to know that as I live worthy I can have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion. I just love this gospel!
Then on Wednesday we were finally able to meet with Lucy! It was especially wonderful because we were with our Relief Society president who we'd been trying to get over there for like months now. It was a really awesome lesson. Lucy told us she was so happy that we'd stayed and that we'd gotten a new sister, because it meant that we'd be there for her baptism. She was so resolute and determined! She came to church the day that Bobby and Mary got confirmed and she told us that she had been sitting there, feeling sad because she knew that she should be up there too. That made her gain the determination to really do this. It's been so amazing to see the growth in her and the way it is affecting her family for the better. Her new baptismal date is for November 1st! It's going to be a good one. Lucy also has this thing where every time she overcomes a temptation she calls it a "victory". I think that has become our new favorite word. We all decided that the closing hymn of her baptism is going to be "Behold, A Royal Army". It'll be wonderful.

Conference this weekend was great! We watched two sessions at the stake center. One session with a less-active sister and another session with a recent convert. I feel so privileged to have a living prophet on the earth today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is called of God as well as his apostles and all the general authorities.

We also had some good finding opportunities this week. The work is progressing here in the Arlington stake. I'm so grateful to be on a mission at this time and for the many wonderful things that I am learning. I'm growing a lot and I'm excited to see how my mission will lay the foundation for the rest of my life. This is the best thing that I could be doing at the moment. It's hard at time, but I absolutely love it. I'm grateful for a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who help me through the good times and the bad times. This is truly their work, and I am just their servant. I think that's the best possible thing to be, but I may be biased ;) Thanks for all your love and support! I love you!
