Country Life!

This week has been really great! I just love Azle! It's lots of pretty country and you know what the country is full of? Animals! All over the place. It makes my heart so happy! So of course there's going to be lots of animal pictures from here on out. Let's see, what happened this week?

Tuesday was a good day. I was able to say good-bye to some good people. Had one last lesson with Alison. She told us that she would for sure be coming to church, I felt pretty confident that she was over her concerns of coming to church. I hope her and family actually made it!

On Wednesday I had to wake up at 3 in the morning to get ready and make sure I had all my stuff. Then we had to be at the Killeen Stake Center by 5 to make sure that all our stuff got loaded so that we could be on the road by 9. I was really tired that day! Then I met up with Sister Meiners and we headed off to Azle. Sister Meiners is just so awesome! I absolutely love her. The ward here is really great too! All the members are so welcoming and so kind.

On Saturday the ward put on an Emergency Preparedness Fair. It was really awesome! Everyone here is so mindful of food storage and being prepared just like the prophet has told us. It's really kind of cool actually! I'd never really looked too much into that kind of stuff before now, but it all seems really neat! The best part of the fair is that we were able to find 2 new investigators! Their names are Bob and Jill. They've both got some pretty deep southern baptist roots, but they were so impressed by our church and they even came to all 3 hours of sacrament the next day! They really seemed to enjoy it and will be having dinner with our ward mission leader on Tuesday. And you know what? We had almost nothing to do with it! The members are the ones who talked to them the most and then introduced us to them at the fair. Even at church a lot of the members were very friendly to them and shared facts about the gospel with them. It was so amazing to see! Regular everyday members have such an impact on people! Even just by their example! Bob was so impressed by how much the church emphasizes families and by the families in the ward. It was really amazing!

We've also spent some time visiting families in the ward because Sister Meiners has only been here for one transfer and wasn't able to get to know the active members too well and I'm so brand new. It's been really great and we've had some really great lessons with them, trying to help them share the gospel with their friends. It's been really amazing to see.

A really good part of yesterday was that we were teaching this family about the Book of Mormon and as we were teaching I just felt this goodness. I felt like I was a good missionary and that Heavenly was proud of me, despite the short comings that I had just had earlier that day. It was really amazing to me and definitely a tender mercy because I had been praying to feel His love like that. It was really good. I'm just so grateful for this gospel and for the opportunity that I have to keep learning. I've learned a lot in my mission, but I still have a lot more to learn in the next 3 transfers. It might be hard, but Jesus Christ is right there with me, helping me. I know that I can do it! It's all just so exciting!

Love y'all!
