This week was crazy! But full of miracles.
We finally met with Lucy! After like a week and a half of silence. It was crazy. Apparently she's having a really hard time right now. Her life just kind of blew up and then apparently she felt guilty because she'd "been bad" and was too ashamed to talk to us. We told her she never needs to be ashamed to see us because we'd never judge her and we shared John 8 with her where it talks about the woman taken in adultery. She seems to be doing a little better now. We're going to try to see her again tonight and then also tomorrow.
Bobby and Mary are doing well. Mary is down to half a pack of cigarettes and is continuing to wean herself off. It's amazing how determined she is! We had a really good lesson with the both of them at one of our recent converts houses. They weren't able to make it to church this week though because Mary's back was hurting way too bad. It always makes me sad when people want to come to church but can't because of their health. They're still grateful for the gospel though and the opportunities that they have to meet with us and attend church when they can though.
We weren't able to meet with Chandler and Monica this week, but we have an appointment for tomorrow evening. We have another couple that we're teaching named Anthony and Cinder. We actually came into contact with them through the Spanish Elders who referred them to us. They've been in the process of getting evicted and we've tried to help them as much as possible. The miracles were that they were able to keep getting extensions before they got kicked out and then we were able to finally figure things out with the bishop and the stake employment specialist so that they could keep their place. Our Bishop is truly a special man with the biggest, kindest heart. He truly worked a miracle.
I'm so grateful for the wonderful members in the ward here and how loving and kind they are to our investigators. They're always willing to help and it's amazing to see. I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to serve here. I'm grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who truly cares for His children. I'm grateful that I've been able to witness and to feel that love as well. It's truly amazing to be an instrument in the Lord's hands! The Church is true! Love y'all!
