From her emails today:

Apartment is one bedroom, even if it was two we'd have to sleep in the same room. My teaching skills don't really seem to be improving cause we have like no one to teach. They all keep cancelling on us so that's kind of frustrating. I should get to see S's baptism. Sister Bangs told me that President likes to keep us in the same area for 6 months unless he feels otherwise.
This week was kind of meh though. We need to find more people to teach and people kept cancelling on us. Although we did meet with a less active member R , who is currently living with his girlfriend M who we are teaching the lessons to. Anyway, we met with R and talked about the temple and sealings and stuff and he seems really interested in coming back to church so that he can get sealed to his kids. He's a way cute dad and has 6 kids. His family situation is kind of crazy with his ex-wife so it might be a little difficult for things to happen the way he wants them to. So I just bore my testimony that if we're being righteous and doing the things we should then Heavenly Father will make sure we're happy in the eternities and stuff like that. I was happy to actually contribute something good to a lesson haha. Other than that this week was just a lot of trying to contact people who weren't even home haha, and visiting with other less active members and trying to get referrals.

How it Came to Be

I figured that I'd start off this whole blog by telling you how I came to the decision to go on a mission. It definitely wasn't easy for me. The thought of going on a mission had never really occurred to me before. Then in October of 2012 President Thomas S. Monson announced that the previous age for sister missionaries to serve, which was 21, was now being lowered to 19 years old. Even then my initial thought was "meh, whatever". However as I continued in my college education I realized that I  was kind of burned out of school, and I wanted to do something else. Then the thought of seriously going on a mission came to me. I still wasn't sure but after a couple months thinking about it, I decided I would start my mission papers and see how I felt about it. So I started them in February of 2013 and finished them all the way in May. I still had good feelings about it, but I hadn't had that personal confirmation from Heavenly Father that I needed to go.
